Description
The ‘Tweens beginner sewing classes are designed especially for 9- to 12-year-old students who would like to learn how to use a sewing machine to create cool stuff. ‘Tweens will learn about the parts of the sewing machine and what they do, how to use a sewing machine and sewing equipment safely, how to use and adjust common stitches, the basics of reading an easy pattern, and the types of fabrics to use for different projects. Students will complete 2-3 simple projects over five sessions that involve machine sewing. Project options include: tote bag, cushion cover, pillowcase, stationery roll, scrunchie, drawstring bag, pin cushion, apron, and/or a patchwork placemat.
Class sizes are limited so that every ‘Tween receives 1:1 support. Classes start on Monday 13th April, 2026 and run every day for the second week of the WA April school holidays. Sessions are $40 each day and you can pay as you go or book all five sessions (recommended).
