Description
The ‘Tweens beginner sewing classes are designed especially for 9- to 12-year-old students who would like to learn how to use a sewing machine to create cool stuff. ‘Tweens will learn about the parts of the sewing machine and what they do, how to use a sewing machine and sewing equipment safely, how to use and adjust common stitches, the basics of reading an easy pattern, and the types of fabrics to use for different projects. Students will complete 2-3 simple projects over five sessions that involve machine sewing. Project options include: tote bag, cushion cover, pillowcase, stationery roll, scrunchie, drawstring bag, pin cushion, apron, and/or a patchwork placemat.
Class sizes are limited so that every ‘Tween receives 1:1 support. Classes start on Saturday 28th February and attendance is flexible. Sessions are $40 each and you can pay as you go or book a block of sessions.
